6. Canada
To establish relations with Canada is one of the priority areas of the foreign economic activity of the government of the Chuvash Republic.
During the joint visits to the Chuvash Republic and Province of Manitoba the ministers of agriculture and the representatives of the Chuvash Republic and Province of Manitoba visited leading agriculture enterprises, got to know about the live stock and crop complexes, grain storing and processing, agricultural equipment of the both countries. In addition to it, the representatives of the both sides visited agricultural educational institutions. In the consequence of the meetings organized in 2005-2007 the priority directions of the mutually beneficial cooperation between the Chuvash Republic, the Russian Federation and Province of Manitoba, Canada were defined: beef and diary cattle breeding, potato growing, education, alternative technologies, farming insurance.
The Chuvash Republic of the Russian Federation and Canada have a similar climate, the same structure/consistence of agricultural lands. All these factors give a great opportunity of a common use of the Canadian experience in the area of alternative technologies in agriculture of the Chuvash Republic.
